We have not appointed a data protection officer, because we are not required to under Article 37 of the General Data Protection Regulation. Data protection questions go to the address above and reach the people who can answer them.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the website at name-1.net and the email you send us. It does not cover the name-1 operator dashboard, the API or the mobile app. Those process data on behalf of our customers, under a separate data processing agreement with each customer, and the customer is the controller for them. If your employer uses name-1 locks and you want to know what is recorded about your openings, ask your employer first; we will help them answer.

3. What we collect, why, and on what basis

4. Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our instructions, under contracts that meet Article 28 GDPR:

Google CloudHosting for this website and our services, in a European Union region
[EMAIL PROVIDER]Email
[ACCOUNTANT]Accounting, for customer transactions only

We also disclose data where the law obliges us to, for example to a court or a public authority acting within its powers.

5. Where it is held

We host in the European Union and we choose suppliers who let us keep it there. Where a supplier's support or administration touches data from outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and by the supplementary measures those clauses require. You may ask us for a copy of the safeguards in place.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may:

  • ask what we hold about you and get a copy of it (Article 15);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16);
  • have data erased where one of the grounds in Article 17 applies;
  • have processing restricted while a dispute is resolved (Article 18);
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format, where Article 20 applies;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Article 21), including on grounds relating to your particular situation;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent, without affecting what was lawful before.

Write to info@name-1.net and we will answer within one month. If the request is complex we may extend that by two further months and will tell you why. Exercising these rights is free unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

7. Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first: it is usually the fastest way to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Latvian supervisory authority at any time:

Datu valsts inspekcija, Elijas iela 17, Riga, LV-1050, Latvia. Telephone +371 67223131, email pasts@dvi.gov.lv, www.dvi.gov.lv

If you live or work in another EU or EEA country, you may complain to the supervisory authority there instead.

8. Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we do not profile you.

9. Do you have to give us anything

No. You can read this website without telling us anything. If you choose to write to us, you have to give us enough to answer. If your company becomes a customer, we need what the contract and the law require, and without it we cannot supply the product.

10. Children

Our product is sold to businesses. This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects you and we have your contact details, we will tell you directly.
