A small company making one thing properly.
name-1 is an independent hardware and software company in Riga, Latvia. We make electronic access for machines, lockers and cabinets: our own lock, the small box that opens it, and the app and dashboard behind them.
Vending machines, parcel lockers and cabinets are still opened with metal keys, and the keys are often all alike, so one key opens a whole round of doors. Most owners know roughly who holds a key. Almost none can say who opened which door last Tuesday.
That is a solvable problem, and solving it does not mean replacing a single machine. It means replacing the lock in the door with one that opens with a phone instead of a key, and writing down every time it opens.
We started in August 2026 with a lock we had already designed and made. The rest followed from there.
Four things we do not compromise on.
We own what has to be trusted
The security is built in-house. We never hand it to a supplier, however convenient that would be.
We design for real places, not the lab
Steel cabinets block radio. Basements have no signal. Machines lose power. We design for all of it from the start.
We say what is measured and what is not
Figures we have not measured ourselves are marked as estimates until we have. That applies inside the company as strictly as it does outside it.
Your data stays in the EU
Unlock logs say who opened what and when, which makes them personal data. They are hosted in the EU and handled accordingly.
Early, and honest about it.
The lock exists and is made. The first controllers were built in September 2026 and are being tested. Nothing is in volume production yet.
What comes next is a pilot: 50 to 200 locks in daily use with our first customers, from the end of 2026 into 2027. If you have machines, lockers or cabinets that still open with a key, we would like to talk to you.
