Cookies

There are none, and this page explains what we do instead.

This site sets no cookies

There are none. Not analytics cookies, not preference cookies, not advertising cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser by this website, so there is nothing for you to accept or refuse, and that is why you have not been shown a banner.

Nor anything else that tracks you

We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics product. There are no advertising pixels, no social media buttons that phone home, no session recording and no fingerprinting.

The site also makes no requests to third-party servers. Fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are all served from name-1.net. This matters because loading a font or a script from someone else's server hands them your IP address and the page you were reading, whether or not a cookie is involved. We have chosen not to do that.

What is recorded instead

Our web server keeps a technical log of the requests it answers, which includes your IP address. That is a server-side record, not a cookie, and it is not used to build a profile of you. It is described in full in our privacy policy, section 3.

The law this follows

Storing information on your device, or reading information already stored there, requires your consent under Section [VERIFY SECTION NO.] of the Latvian Electronic Communications Law, which implements Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Consent is not required for storage that is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for. We rely on neither, because we store nothing.

If this changes

If we ever add something that stores or reads data on your device and is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before it loads, give you a real choice to refuse, make refusing as easy as accepting, and update this page first.

The dashboard is different

The name-1 operator dashboard, when it opens, will set a session cookie so that signing in works. A cookie that keeps you signed in is strictly necessary for a service you have asked for, so it does not need consent, but it will be documented there rather than here.

Managing cookies generally

Every major browser lets you see and delete cookies, block them by site, or block them entirely, under its privacy or site settings. Since we set none, doing any of that will not affect how this site works.
